The Honeydew operations room is run from the Honeydew police station on a 24 hour basis. It is manned by staff employed by the CPF and funded by the residents of Honeydew.

It was put in place to give you the residents of Honeydew an alternative emergency centre to call in a crisis. We recommend that the operations room is called rather than the 10111 number as the staff can despatch emergency personel very quickly. Not only do they have radio contact with the police vehicles in Honeydew but also have radios to ER24 and JMPD.

The two emergency numbers are 011 795 1960 and 011 795 1969.

The operations room is a unique concept in South Africa and was started some 10 years ago. It is there to offer a superior service from the Honeydew SAPS and the CPF. It gives you a central number to phone as in many instances, numerous emergency calls come out in Johannesburg and these take time to be relayed to the West Rand radio control.
